How to Avoid Discrimination in School

Transgender Student
As a transgender student, you are most likely the subject of discrimination in school. You are constantly prone to bullying and humiliation by your own teachers, classmates and even the school administrators. Here are some helpful tips for you to consider.

Talk to your school — On the very first day of school it is best that you should go to the school’s office and inform them that you are a transgender and that you need to know the school’s policies and guidelines for your kind like the dress code if it’s okay to be a transvestite and if there’s a separate comfort room for transgender.

Show them what you are capable of — Most of the time your talents and abilities define you. If you are good in academics you must shine and show them what you got. If you are good in sports please don’t hesitate to join the sports club of your interest and be recognized there.

Find allies — Friends are the people who can understand you more so you must gain few good friends in school, the ones who really care and can defend you always.

Be yourself — You are what you are for a reason — Transgender Magazine
